Are you interested in Social Work? What about Medicine, Education, Psychology, Sports Management, or Ecology? Students International has a unique focus on providing challenging cross-cultural experiences geared towards students through occupational ministry opportunities, and will give students the opportunity to connect to many major areas of study pertaining to ministry and meeting the needs of the people. While staying at their base in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, you will have the opportunity to serve in a variety of settings at various locations nearby, using your specific passions and skills.

Prayer Requests:

  1. For our safety and health as we travel and serve
  2. For the Lord to prepare our hearts so that we are able to humbly and selflessly serve outside of our comfort zones without complaining
  3. For our team unity so that we are able to love each other well
  4. For our eyes and hearts to be open to God’s leading so that we are able to help how others need, not how we want to serve
  5. For the people we will encounter to experience God’s love and truth through us

Ephesians 3:20-21 – “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

  1. Praying for you guys especially. The DR has a special place in my heart after last year’s trip. As you travel and experience amazing things there, keep in mind that God will always meet your needs, but not always your expectations (: That was definitely our biggest lesson last year.

    And regardless of whether or not you’re a morning person, take at least one morning, before everyone else is up, to sit on the porch (or in the gazebo on the hill) with coffee in hand to watch the sunrise. You won’t be let down.

  3. The DR is a perfect place to practice the presence of God and live by the power of God. Give Him your weaknesses and uncertainties, and stand back and see what He will do! Praying for the heart of God to be accomplished in each of your lives as well as in those of the DR.
