We are only a few hours away from being on our way to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic! We are so ready and beyond excited to be used by God to love and serve the people in Jarabacoa. Team DR is meeting tonight at midnight to go over last minute details and to gather together one last time before we take off. We’re heading for the airport tonight at 2am along with two other Spring Break teams.
While in the Dominican Republic we will be partnering with Students International and staying on their base while doing various service projects in Jarabacoa. Each member of Team DR has been assigned to a site (physical therapy, health center, dentistry, education, special education, social work, men’s/women’s sports, micro-finance, and film/media). These sites are where we will be spending most of our time and doing various jobs and activities and helping in whatever way that we can.
We want to give you a HUGE thank you for all your financial and prayer support. It is so humbling to see how your precious gifts help us achieve our goal and continues to bless and equip us. We are so blessed by your love and support and we’re excited to have you be a part of this adventure with us! We ask that you continue to pray for our team throughout this journey (see the post below to find specific prayer requests).
Our team verse is 1 Corinthians 15:58 which says, “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
We want to love and serve the people in Jarabacoa with hearts that beautifully reflect Christ. We want to bless them and bless the Lord. Our prayer is that we will stand firm in Christ, that we will serve humbly and generously, and that we will pour out the love that God has poured into us.
God is in charge of this journey. We are His disciples- recklessly abandoned, totally surrendered, and separated by God. We could not be more honored and ecstatic to go on this adventure where we will do the work of The Lord and watch Him work in our hearts and in the hearts of Jarabacoa. He is a big God and He will do big things.
